About Us

The Central Detective Training Institute, Hyderabad was inaugurated on 28 th September, 1964. After functioning in Intelligence Bureau till 1973, the Central Detective Training Schools were transferred to Bureau of Police Research & Development. The nomenclature of Central Detective Training School was changed to Central Detective Training Institute in 2017. The designation of Principal has been changed to Director.

In the year 2017, BPR&D has declared Central Detective Training Institute, Hyderabad as Centre of Excellence for Police Information Technology & Cyber Crime.
